The Institute's Programs
Aurora provides programs focusing on two areas: Restaurant/Hotel Management and Hospitality Services Administration. These 12-week programs, coupled with on-the-job training, will prepare students to hold various positions in the hospitality industry.
Students must hold a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma to enter one of the programs. Students who do not hold either diploma are invited to participate in the Institute's SITE (Self Improvement Through Education) Program.
Core and Foundation Courses
Both programs offer Core and Foundation Courses within the first four weeks of each cohort session. Classes include:
- Interpersonal Communications
- Introduction to Computers |

Specialization Courses
In weeks five through nine, students will move into specializations focused on Restaurant/Hotel Management or Hospitality Services Administration. Classes include:
- Hospitality Finance
- Personnel Development |
- Inventory Management
- Introduction to Marketing |
- Customer Service III |

Externship
During the last three weeks of the cohort, students will participate in externships with approved agencies. These brief out-of-class learning opportunities are designed to providestudents with a supervised, on-the-job training experience in the hospitality industry. |
