Aurora's Mission Statement
The Aurora Training Institute seeks to provide access to job training, job placement assistance and mentoring in an effort to help improve the economic circumstances of the population we serve.
The Aurora Institute for Hospitality Service, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, founded to equip individuals with marketable skills in the hospitality industry.
PROGRAMS:
Aurora provides programs focusing on two areas: Restaurant/Hotel Management and Hospitality Services Administration. These 12-week programs, coupled with on-the-job training, will prepare students to hold various positions in the hospitality industry.
FEES:
A means to achieving the Institute's mission is to provide this training at no cost to students who are deemed "low income" based on the annual levels as outlined by the Office of Post-Secondary Education of the U.S. Department of Education (http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/trio/incomelevels.html). Prospective students must provide proof of income upon application.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applications are disseminated to various organizations in the Atlanta area and available online. Prospective students are nominated by those organizations for entry into the program.
FACULTY:
The Institute's instructors comprise hospitality business leaders from the metro Atlanta area, ensuring students receive practical, "real world" knowledge and experience. These professionals donate their time to the institute. Additionally, volunteers from the community, including certified teachers, donate time to one-on-one GED test preparation.
