The Aurora Institute for Hospitality Service, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded to equip individuals with marketable skills in the hospitality industry. The Institute seeks to provide access to training, job placement assistance and mentoring in an effort to help improve the economic circumstances of the communities we serve.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the hospitality industry comprises 8 percent of all employment nationally, with the industry being the first stop for employment for young people. Additionally, the field is expected to have an increase in employment for the foreseeable future. Therefore, finding quality employees is a high priority.
Recognizing that quality employees begin with quality training, Aurora provides programs focusing on two areas: Restaurant/Hotel Management and Hospitality Services Administration. These 12-week programs, coupled with on-the-job training, will prepare students to hold various positions in the field, such as:
Banquet Captains
Front Desk Agents
Restaurant Managers
Hospitality Hosts, and more. |
The Institute also offers GED preparation sessions through its SITE (Self Improvement Through Education) program.
